The New Wei is a literary & arts movement that seeks to discover, promote and create provocative, significant, meaningful, boundary-pushing narrative artists. We publish articles, essays, interviews and posts on writers, visual artists, musicians, playwrights, filmmakers and other craftspeople who are true auteurs or movement makers who have been overlooked in conventional media. So if you want to know who they are, please subscribe.
Created by Amazon #1 bestselling, multiple award-winning literary and noir author Tejas Desai, The New Wei also hopes to create a collective of indie writers and artists. To further this goal, The New Wei runs a Salon in New York City that meets monthly in a different borough of NYC.
Attendance is open to all writers and artists of any stripe. Rather than featuring readings or performances (there are plenty of other venues for that), we focus on talking shop, exchanging information and forging collaborations. Our goal is to bring together a diversity of artists from a variety of scenes to learn from each other, to more effectively promote our work and build greater aesthetics.
